Our mission
To take over Nottingham's tram operations on line 1 in 2011, construct lines 2 (to Clifton) and 3 (to Chilwell) for completion in 2014, then maintain and operate the full system under our 23 year Concession Agreement.
Our commitments to Nottingham/Nottinghamshire
We are committed to working with the Authority to reduce unemployment in Nottingham, improve the skill levels of local people and increase opportunities for local suppliers, particularly by highlighting contracts suitable for small and medium sized businesses.
We will keep our pre-qualifying and procurement process as straight forward as possible and create appropriate work packages or split work into lots to make our work more attractive to local businesses where appropriate.
What we need from our suppliers in return:
As well as being able to meet the specifications of the contract you will need to demonstrate that your business meets the required standards in your field relating to Health and Safety, environment, quality assurance and supplier accreditation.
You will be asked to commit to recruiting where necessary from the local area and provide details of any vacancies so that suitable local candidates can be sourced with you and prepared for interview.
We will ask you to formally join us in our commitments (as stated above) by making provision in your organisation for work related training, apprenticeships or other employment opportunities for local people.
In working with Tramlink Nottingham you will be demonstrating your commitment to helping towards our goals for sustainable development. For more information please see Local Opportunities.
