Final trackwork completed on Beeston tram line
The expansion of Nottingham's tram network has taken another major step forward with the completion of track laying along the new line to Beeston and Chilwell.
Chairman of the Greater Nottingham Planning Advisory Board, Cllr Steve Barber, who is also a Beeston councillor on Broxtowe Borough Council, helped mark the occasion by assisting engineers tighten the last fastening clip, which was painted gold to mark the occasion.
Golden finish to track welding
Ahead of the fastening of the final bolt, the project's track-laying team also celebrated the final piece of welding on the line through Beeston in Humber Road.
The occasion was marked by painting the last joint gold, and afterwards they grouped together for this team photograph.
