Requests for quotation and Invitations to tender/ negotiate.

Whenever we invite a supplier to tender, we will:

• specify our needs in terms of outputs whenever appropriate, to encourage innovation;
• invite tenders from sufficient suppliers to ensure there is genuine competition; whilst still giving tenders a reasonable chance of winning;
• make sure tendering procedures and documentation are as clear and concise as possible, and only ask for information necessary to evaluate bids;
• establish the evaluation criteria on which the decision to award the contract will be based;
• provide all tenderers with equivalent information and opportunity.

When we invite suppliers to tender for work we will provide full instructions on how each tender should be submitted.

Opportunities for local suppliers and small to medium enterprises (SMEs)

It is our policy to encourage local suppliers and SMEs to tender for our business. We will flag our contract opportunities which are suitable for local suppliers and smaller organisations and welcome quotations and tenders from such local suppliers and SMEs.
